Cricket Works Press
Cricket Works Press began in 2019 when Amy Thurber took on the job of illustrating and designing her husband Frederick’s book, In the Wake of the Willows.
Frederick Thurber is a graduate of Brown University, and an avid naturalist and gardener. Over the course of thirty years, Mr. Thurber has written hundreds of nature articles in various newspapers and magazines throughout the US.
Amy is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, and has spent the past 30 years as a multidisciplinary artist. After graduating she ran a freelance graphic design and illustration business assisting local businesses and farmers in marketing, package design and publications. After many years of collaborating with her husband Fred on his nature columns, she helped him bring his book to life.
She found it to be such a rewarding experience, she began exploring other topics for books that appealed to her. Amy and her son have struggled with chronic medical issues and severe allergies. For the past 5 years, she and her family changed their diet to accommodate their needs. She developed many recipes, and found their dietary path to be so transformative, she felt compelled to share it with others. What DO You Eat? came out in the summer of 2021.
